CASBA presents "Straw Bale Building Details: An Illustrated Guide for Design and Construction"

On Saturday June 22 at 2:00 pm, we are hosting the California Straw Building Association (CASBA).

CASBA is presenting their new book, “Straw Bale Building Details: An illustrated Guide for Design and Construction.”

As heat storms, wildfires and other disasters become annual events, creating houses with
thick, superinsulated, fire resistant walls is no longer just for the ecologically minded.

This presentation will cover technical aspects of building with straw; as well as the joy and
aesthetics of building with natural materials.

The discussion will be led by two members of the CASBA community:
Tracy Vogel Thieriot, natural building contractor with a specialty in natural plasters and
floors; and Bob Theis, Architect and designer of resilient naturally built homes.

This event is free; books will be available for sale. Light refreshments will be served.
